Tikkun Olam
In our Jewish tradition, we support social and economic justice, drive political change, advocate for ecological renewal, promote peaceful coexistence, and uphold human rights. These values are embodied in Tikkun Olam, showing our commitment to improving the world. We also aim to blend spiritual growth with our work for social justice and firm political beliefs.
Each year at our Labor Day picnic, members of P'nai Or select our Tzedakah Partner for the coming year.
The Tikkun Olam committee meets monthly.

Tzedakah Partners
The Domestic Violence Resource Center of Washington County
seeks to end domestic violence and abuse in our community. Several agencies are housed within one building to help survivors of violence and abuse with many trauma-informed and culturally appropriate wrap around services in multiple languages. Among the services offered to women and families are help obtaining housing, food, hygiene items, DHS services and legal assistance as well as substance abuse counseling.
Indivisible Civics Oregon
is a part of the Indivisible movement, which began in late 2016 for newly engaged civic activists to take action in defense of their progressive values within their local communities. Indivisible Civics was founded to provide civic education, policy resources, strategic guidance, and targeted trainings across the country, including in Oregon. In the Portland Metro area and throughout Oregon, Indivisible groups have focused on organizing and promoting innumerable peaceful protests in neighborhoods and central public places in defense of the environment, immigrants, the LGBTQ community, Social Security, veterans, democracy and human rights.
